Gary Glazer

It is with great sadness that I observe the passing of Gary Glazer. Due to the obvious fact that we shared the same first and last names, once we got to Heights High, he became known as Gary Glazer(Roosevelt) and I became known as Gary Glazer(Wiley). He was always a scholar, a gentle person and a wild driver on occasion. We were at Case Western Reserve U. at the same time-he for med school while I attended law school. From time to time, I would receive parking ticket violation notices in the mail that were actually his-although he claimed that they were mine. He always contended that, in any case, he was not guilty of the charges(minor ones at worst). I kept track of his accomplishments over the years. A few years ago, I received a phone call here in Philadelphia from a woman who was so excited to speak to me-she went on and on about my sister Gwen, about the house on Washington Blvd. where she used to play, etc.,etc. I finally was able to interrupt her and tell that she was confused and that she had the wrong Gary Glazer. Her only comment was "Oh, you're the other one?" I am sorry about his passing-he was a gift to the medical world and a fine person as well. A tremendous loss for all of us.
