I'm so  sorry to hear of Mardele's death.  She was a neighbor and a  friend, always extremely funny and fun to be with. Mardele will be missed and a bright light has gone dark. RIP my friend.

So sorry to hear about Mardele-she was a neighbor when were in junior high school. She was always a kind person with a great sense of humor. When we were in the 8th grade at Wiley, Mark Wachter and I put together a skit for our friend Richard Schwartz who was running for president or vice president of the student council. The skit was patterned after the Huntley-Brinkley nightly news show and was fairly elaborate. I  enlisted Mardele to be a "person on the street" who would be interviewed by a make believe reporter about her vote for Richard. I remember Mardele's reaction when I described the scenario to her-she gave me a look that relfected that she thought i was completely nuts but since it sounded like fun(it was) she was completely in . Richard lost the election but we had a great time doing the skit. Mardele, when I knew her, was irreverant, smart and a thoroughly nice person-devoid of pretense. We lost touch over the years but I have very fond memories of good person.Rest in peace Mardele.

It definitely hurts.  In the Wiley and early Heights days we had kind of a brother/sister relationship.  Later we drifted apart but she was always so kind and willing to listen. Mardele, RIP.
Your rent-a-brother.
Marc
