
Samuel was an internationally recognized expert on the value of stringed instruments. He died of a heart attack in his sleep in 2003. He was a successful physician with 3 offices in the Atlanta suburbs, known for providing free treatment to many patients. He was also a violinist who donated hundreds of instruments to Atlanta schoolchildren. He is survived by his wife,Terry, 2 daughters and 2 sons.

I met Sam when I came to Heights junior year and he became one of my earliest friends there. I remember him as a warm, sensitive person. I am saddened to learn of his premature passing.
