Greenwald, Adrienne (nee Geller) died on Aug. 22, 2025, a proud age 75, after a lifetime battle with chronic illness. She was the dearly beloved wife and best friend of Marc for over 47 years; the dear daughter of Jacob and Rosalind (Hartman) Geller, both deceased; the dear daughter-in-law of Herbert and Gloria (Hersh) Greenwald, both deceased; the fond niece of Milt Nadler, deceased; cousin to many, aunt of two nieces and one nephew. She is survived by her daughter, Amanda; her granddaughter, Jazmin; her brother, Cary Geller (Tracy Fischer) of Boston, Mass.; and her brother-in-law Gary (Nancy) Greenwald of Columbus. Adie was a loving and caring person and devoted friend. She touched many lives during her careers in public service, education, banking and libraries, collecting many friends all along the way. Adie had a strong and determined personality but with a soft side for animals and nature. To her, every living thing counted, no matter how small. She will be sadly and deeply missed by all her animal companions, Mocha, Jack and Ginger. She was proud to have rescued multiple animals and helped place many other animals in loving homes. She even “adopted” a manatee. Adie enjoyed getting people together and cherished her long friendships with childhood friends Janie Ratner, Sandy Cameron and Jo Ellyn Kerzner. She made many years of warm memories with her husband, daughter and granddaughter, and she had a wonderful, active and fulfilling life. Friends and family who wish can honor her memory by a contribution to any animal rescue organization. Please consider North East Ohio SPCA (northeastohiospca.org), Sanctuary for Senior Dogs (sanctuaryforseniordogs.org) or Guiding Eyes for the Blind (guidingeyes.org). Graveside Services will be held at 1 p.m. Aug. 26 at Mayfield Cemetery at 2749 Mayfield Road in Cleveland Heights. Family will receive friends from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 26 at the residence of Marc Greenwald.
